2006 United States Naginata Federation Instructors Seminar, Annual Seminar, Championship Tournament, Tryouts for the 2007 World Championship, and Examination 3-9 July 2006 Sonoma State University, Rohnert Park, CA Sponsorship: United States Naginata Federation Hosted by: Northern California Naginata Federation Dates: July 3rd (Mon) & 4th (Tues) Instructor Training July 4th (Tues), July 5th (Wed), & July 6th (Thurs)Annual Seminar July 7th (Fri) USNF Championship Tournament July 8th (Sat) Tryouts for the US team for the 2007 World Championship July 9th (Sun) Examination Detailed Schedule (PDF, 272K) Place: Sonoma State University (about 65 miles north of San Francisco International Airport) (Maps and Directions to Sonoma State University) Purpose: Introduce beginners to Naginata, provide advanced training for participants, and teaching and referee training for instructors Requirements: Instructors Training: Open to those who have Sandan and up. Annual Seminar: Open to the public Examination: USNF members Tournament: USNF members, ages 18 and up. Tryouts: USNF members, ages 18 and up. Contents: Outline history of naginata. Naginata basics: happoburi, datotsu, shikakeoji. Zen Nihon Naginata Kata, basic technique with bo-gu, kakari-geiko, shiaigeiko, tournament management, referee training. Examinations: Kyu and Dan testing up to Sandan will be held on Sunday, July 9th Fees: Seminar fees: Instructor Seminar: No charge Annual Seminar: (see table below) Regular Member Minor/Student/Military One day $ 75.00 $ 40.00 Two days $ 120.00 $ 80.00 Three days $150.00 $ 100.00 Fee does not include lunch.
