July 28th (Thurs) & 28th (Fri) Annual Seminar, including Referee Seminar (3rd dan and up)
July 30th (Sat) Practice Tournament and Additional training
July 31th (Sun) Dan and Kyu examination

Place:

University of Colorado, Boulder, CO (about 42 miles west of Denver International Airport)

Purpose:

Introduce beginners to Naginata, provide advanced training for participants, and teaching and referee training for instructors

Requirements:

Referee's Seminar: 3 dan and up.
Annual Seminar: Open to the public
Examination: USNF members
Tournament: USNF members, ages 18 and up.

Contents:

Outline history of naginata.
Naginata basics: happoburi, datotsu, shikakeoji.
Zen Nihon Naginata Kata, basic technique with bo-gu, kakari-geiko, shiaigeiko, tournament management, referee training.

Examinations:

Kyu and Dan testing up to Sandan will be held on Sunday, August 15
