Place:

Bryn Mawr College, Bryn Mawr, PA (11 miles west of Philadelphia)

Arrival Instructions and Meeting Rooms

Purpose:

Introduce beginners to Naginata, provide advanced training for participants, and teaching and referee training for instructors

Requirements:

Referee's Seminar: 3 dan and up.
Annual Seminar: Open to the public
Examination: USNF members
Tournament: USNF members, ages 18 and up.

Contents:

Outline history of naginata.
Naginata basics: happoburi, datotsu, shikakeoji.
Zen Nihon Naginata Kata, basic technique with bo-gu, kakari-geiko, shiaigeiko, tournament management, referee training.

Examinations:

Kyu and Dan testing up to Sandan will be held on Sunday, August 15

Tournament:

Shikake-oji Engi,Mens and Womens Teams,
Mens Individual, and Women's Individual Matches

The following additional events may also be held depending on applications:
Youth event, Open Individuals (open to all countries), Zen Nihon Kata Engi,
Masters Division
