of Education, the All Japan Naginata Federation
becomes a foundation.

The First (All Japan) Naginata Engi Tournament
is held. (Engi is a type of Naginata kata.) This
tournament is still held each year.

The All Japan Naginata Federation (Standard
Naginata) Kata were formed and standardized. This
kata is now studied worldwide.

The All Japan Naginata Federation becomes a
member of the Japan Amateur Sports Committee.

The First Young Peoples Budo (Naginata)
Tournament is held. This tournament is still held
each year.

The All Japan Naginata Federation becomes
semi-affiliated with the All Japan High School
Sports Federation

The 25th anniversary of the All Japan Naginata
Federation is celebrated with a tournament in
Kumamoto. The United States Naginata Federation
participates in this tournament.

The official Naginata refereeing system is
